There’s no end to the amount of flavors, spices and notes in New Orleans cooking. A city known for Mardi Gras, the food that comes out of New Orleans is as eclectic and inviting as its festival and residents. At Sugar Freak, we’ve put or our twist on the classics – everything from gumbo and jambalaya, to buttermilk fried chicken, collard greens, muffuletas, and chicken and waffles.

Sugarfreak started with a simple license plate logo – a symbol of all that was to come, and all that was to be represented.
With the owners original ties to New Orleans, Louisiana, it only felt natural for the food served at Sugarfreak to reflect the comfort, sights, sounds and tastes of this special city. The concept was born: New Orleans food – made right – in Astoria.
Three things never changed: The name, the logo, and the promise to serve nothing but amazing, filling, authentic Louisiana cooking.
The little restaurant became Sugarfreak - complete with a homey vibe, good vittles, and uncanny name that you won’t forget - especially once you’ve had a chance to savor our delicious food, drinks and, of course, mouthwatering home style desserts!
